An old architecture

“SURA MOSQUE”
A rare edifice, belonging to the sultanate period, the Sura mosque is divided into two sections i.e. prayer chamber and Verandah. The prayer chamber measures 7.84×7.84m and the Verandah 4.84×2.12m. The mosque is constructed with small bricks laid in lime mortar and its walls are 1.80m thick. The roof of the prayer chamber is covered by a half circular dome and the Verandah is covered by a row of three domes. Each of the corner of the prayer chamber as well as the Verandah has a stone turret. There are 3 arched doorways on the east and one each on the north and south. There are three decorated stone mihrabs of the west well. On the outer face of the well there are two rows of panels of ornamental brick and in between the rows there is a molding band of stone which is noticed in other mosque Sultani period.
Architecturally the mosque may be dated to Hussain Shahi period(16th century A.D.).
